Din Tai Fung First Impressions | Glendale Galleria
This lil guy was there to greet us upon arrival ✨
I got the lychee green ice tea with boba (it was floral and sweet but not overpowering) - it paired beautifully with the Braised Beef Noodle Soup I ordered for dinner (salt + sweetness = chefs kiss ✨
Din Tai Fung did not have non dairy alternatives like oat milk (I had to skip the milk tea) but the lychee tea was a great alternative.
We ordered Jasmine tea for the table.
The Jasmine tea was lovely and stayed hot from the beginning of the meal until the end - a great way to start and end the meal for good digestion 👍
They carry gluten free soy sauce for those with an allergy, so you can request it from your waiter 👍
I was very appreciative that our waiter was attentive to my gluten free preference 👍
I ordered the Braised Beef Noodle Soup for dinner with the glass noodle alternative which was absolutely delicious! It was prefect for an end-of-the-day meal.
Note: I found out the soup had gluten in the broth due to the soy sauce that was already added, however I did take a chance.
*For more severe Gluten-Allergies, choose another option on the menu.
The broth was savory, flavorful, and deep✨
The bok choi was fresh and crunchy 🥬✨
The meat was sooo tender! It fell apart sooo easily 🤤
The sweet potato noodles were so nice and not overcooked
#DOLDINES
As you can see, I enjoyed the Braised Beef Noodle Soup! I would have drank all the broth if it wasn’t for the gluten in the broth (I told myself I would not overdo it 😅)
I loved Din Tai Fung’s interior! It is enchanting, romantic, and peaceful. I took note of the well planned floor plan.
There was enough room between tables for guests and staff to walk around seamlessly.
I loved the combination of natural elements from the wood paneling and stone to the tree centerpiece and moonlight art.
I felt like I was in a moon palace and the art work was reminiscent of the water, clouds, waves, and the sky. It almost seemed like there would be an indoor water element due to the tranquil dining atmosphere.
The lighting was appropriate — I can easily see my food, my company, and surroundings.
Final thoughts
As it was my first time at Din Tai Fung, I observed that the staff was very helpful and polite.
Our waiter checked in at appropriate times, was available for suggestions, knowledgeable about the menu and alternatives
We came late to so they were out of some things like the cucumber salad we ordered, but it was not a problem. We will be back again to try it 👍
